Crawlsure Plugin and Google User Data
Crawlsure is a WordPress plugin made by WordPromise. If you choose to connect Crawlsure to your Google account, the plugin reads data from Google Search Console and, if you also connect it, Google Analytics, for the websites you select. This section explains what that means. It applies in addition to the rest of this Privacy Policy, and where the two differ for Google user data, this section applies.
Google Search Console: the list of your verified sites, and search performance data for the site you select (search queries, clicks, impressions, average position, pages, and whether pages are indexed). Google Analytics, only if you connect it: visit and engagement figures for the property you select. Your Google account’s email address, so you can see which account is connected. Crawlsure only asks for read-only access. It never changes anything in your Google account, Search Console or Analytics.
The data is used only to show you reports inside your own WordPress dashboard: which pages are in Google, pages close to the first page of results, pages losing traffic, pages competing for the same searches, and similar SEO advice. It is not used for advertising, it is not used to train AI models, and it is not sold.
The data, and the access token that lets the plugin read it, are stored in your own WordPress website’s database, on your own hosting. They are not stored on WordPromise’s servers. To complete the connection with Google and to renew access, the request passes through a connection service at wordpromise.com. This service forwards the request to Google and returns the result to your website. It does not store your Google data or your access tokens, and it does not keep a copy of them. Once a week the same service also looks up how fast your pages load for real visitors, in Google’s Chrome UX Report: only the public addresses of your home page and a few of your most-visited pages pass through it, and nothing is stored.
Your Google data is protected: the access token is encrypted (AES-256) with your website’s own secret keys, every connection to Google and to the connection service uses HTTPS, and only your site’s administrators can see the data in WordPress.
WordPromise does not share, sell or transfer Google user data to anyone. WordPromise staff do not see your Google data, unless you ask us for support and give us access to your website yourself.
Search data shown in reports is kept in your website’s database for up to 16 months, the same period Google keeps it, and older data is deleted automatically. To remove everything at any time, click “Disconnect” in Crawlsure’s settings: this deletes the stored Google data and access token from your website and asks Google to cancel the access. Deleting the Crawlsure plugin removes them too. You can also remove Crawlsure’s access from your Google account at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Crawlsure’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We reserve the right to revise this Privacy Policy by updating it and posting it at https://www.wordpromise.com/privacy, with the new terms taking effect on the date of posting. You should periodically review this Privacy Policy to ensure you are familiar with the most current version. Your use of the Service after the Effective Date posted above constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
